First, we have purely educational tours involving wilderness ecology, mountain preparedness and improving lifestyles through physical fitness. These outings are designed for outdoor enthusiasts who are not familiar with avalanche phenomena or the challenging travel conditions associated with winter-mountaineering. Day trips will provide direction in terms of basic mapping skills, appropriate gear selection and planning and preparedness techniques. Second, we provide a series of courses taught in conjunction with the American Avalanche Association (AAA), The American Institute of Avalanche Research and Education (AIARE) and the American Mountain Guides Association (AMGA): utilizing the education progression governed by the AAA. These courses include three-day Level 1 and Level 2 avalanche classes, one-day Backcountry 101 ski-tours and up to twelve-day guide courses taught by the AMGA instructor pool. These programs are designed to be incorporated into the ongoing education development of novices, advancing recreationalists and knowledgable ski-mountaineers who are in search of additional skills achieved through guidance, wilderness travel and personal development. Thus, all clients are encouraged to return for follow up sessions and backcountry tours that will continue to build travel fundamentals and likewise offer a comfortable safe learning environment. Our primary goal is to benefit the entire backcountry user population by spreading influential ideas and helping clients become more prepared for unguided travels.
