Participating in a Level 1 Avalanche courses is ideal for any aspiring backcountry skier or snowboarder, highway worker or CDOT employee, and for students involved with the Earth sciences and geography. Our avalanche programs are taught by certified instructors for both the American Institute for Avalanche Research and Education and the American Avalanche Association. Courses are three days in duration and students will learn how weather, terrain and snowpack all combine to create avalanche phenomena. Level 1 Avalanche courses are the cornerstone for any outdoor enthusiast interested in lowering the chance of being caught in an avalanche!

Our Level 1 programs are conducted as either 3 consecutive days, or completed in 2 evening sessions followed by 2 days in the field. The total cost for an AIARE sanctioned course is $350. Your tuition fee includes a personable instructor-to-student ratio, a Level 1 Student Manual and the professional teaching and insights from AMGA guides.
